Installation & Setup | LZW42 | RGBW (Multi-Color) A19 Bulb | SmartThings

This article will walk you through how to setup your Ilumin (Inovelli) multi-color (RGBW) smart bulb with your Samsung SmartThings Hub. For more advanced features such as Device Handler Installation, please see the recommended articles below.

Adding to SmartThings

As of February 23, 2020, SmartThings is transitioning its users to the new SmartThings App and the Classic App will be phased out. Therefore our instructions will only be available for the new app.
For optimal performance and to access all the advanced features, you'll want to install our custom device handler. We recommend you do this first, but you can definitely do it after you pair your bulb. We wanted to keep this article short, so we've created a separate page for installing the handler. It can be found here: LZW42 Device Handler Instructions

Pairing (Inclusion) Steps

NOTE: The below directions assume you have not installed the device handler prior to pairing.
  1. Disconnect power from the bulb
  2. Open your SmartThings App
  3. Press the (+) button at the top right of the screen
  4. Click on, "Device"
  5. Click, "Scan" at the top right of the screen
  6. Restore power to the bulb - it should blink twice to confirm the bulb is in inclusion/pairing mode
  7. If successful, the bulb should blink once more
  8. In addition, your app will show your bulb
  9. Click back to the main devices tab and look for your bulb!

Excluding (Factory Resetting) the Bulb

Sometimes the bulb will not pair and needs to be factory reset. There are a couple of ways to do this. The first is via the bulb itself, while the second is via the SmartThings App.

Resetting via the Bulb
  1. Power on/off the bulb 6x (between 0.5 - 2 seconds)
