Wiring Diagrams for Ceiling Fan + Light Switch
Overview
These wiring diagrams should only be used for our fan & light switch and should not be used for anything other than a ceiling fan (ie: no exhaust fans).
- Neutral Wire is Required at both the switch and canopy
- Inovelli switch needs to be installed where the Line (120V) is located
- The switch is not meant to work in a 3-Way or multi-switch setting
- Max Horsepower (Fan): 1/6 HP
- Max Wattage (Lights): 200W Incandescent or 100W CFL/LED
- AC/DC Motor Compatibility: Only compatible with AC Motors
WARNING: Not all wire colors shown may be the same as what's in your box or at the fan. While we've tried our best to match the most common setups, local electrical codes may be different than what's depicted. If your wire colors do not match, please use a multi-meter to check for continuity, hire an electrician or
Wiring Discussion in our Community where someone can help. Again, we are unable to give specific wiring advice ourselves due to liability issues.
Multiple Fans w/One Switch: This is a common question and while this has been tested internally to work (as long as you stay under the Max Horsepower and Max Wattage) it was not tested by UL and it will void your warranty.
Wiring Diagrams
Please remember that this switch and canopy module can only be used for AC Rated Ceiling Fans. Do not use them on DC Rated fans or Exhaust fans.
