How To: Use the 2-Channel Plug (Indoor & Outdoor) With The New SmartThings App | SmartThings
Introduction
First, you need to make sure that the correct device handler is installed. Here are the steps to get the code from github and to put it into your account so that it can be used with your 2-channel device.
Adding The Device Handler To Your Account
- You will need to go to the link below and copy all of the text into your clipboard. If you press Ctrl + A that will select all the text. Then, Ctrl + C will let you "copy" the text. You can also drag the mouse cursor over all the text to select it and right click and choose "copy".

- Next, go to the SmartThings IDE and log in with your account. Click on "Device Handlers" and then "+ Create New Device Handler".

- Now you will click on the "From Code" tab and paste the text that is in your clipboard with Ctrl + V (or right click and "paste").

- Then, click on the "Create" button to create the device handler into your account.

- Now, click on the "Save" button, then "Publish" and finally, "For Me". This will save the device handler and make it available for use with your devices.

Assigning The Device Handler to Your 2-Channel Device
First, click on the "Devices" tab in the SmartThings IDE.
- Click on the device that you want to assign the device handler to.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Edit".

- Now, click on the "Type" and select the device handler that you published in the previous section. It should be named "Inovelli 2-Channel Smart Plug (Alternate)".

Delete And Re-Create The Child Devices

If your device, after inclusion, is using the "Inovelli 2-Channel Smart Plug MCD" device type you must first change the child device type from "Child Switch Health" to "Child Switch" before you delete them. If you fail to do this then the parent device will also disappear and you will need to exclude the device and start again.
If the Parent Type Looked Like This:
Then you must change the child devices type from:
To this:
and hit "Update" before you proceed to delete them.
- The next step you will scroll down on the device page, select each of the listed "Child Devices", and delete them.

Don't forget to do this for both of the child devices.
- If you scroll down on the device, both child devices should now be gone. Click on Edit to open the settings for the device once again.

- In this step you need only to scroll down to the bottom and click "Update". This should create the child devices again.

- Scrolling down on the device page should now show that they are back.

Conclusion
Now, when you go back to the SmartThings app you should see three devices. One should be the main device that controls both channels at once. The other two are the new child devices that can control the individual channels.
