How To: Include / Pair, Exclude / Remove & Factory Reset Fan & Light Switch

This article will share how to include/pair, exclude/remove and/or factory reset your Inovelli Fan/Light switch. For specific information on how to do this with your specific hub/gateway, please see the links at the bottom of the page.
 

Including / Pairing Your Fan & Light Switch

NOTE: Straight from the factory your wall switch should be paired directly to the canopy module. Below are instructions to manually pair the switch to the canopy in case it isn't communicating. Please use the picture for reference:

Pairing the Switch to the Canopy Module

Please follow the directions below to include or pair your Inovelli light switch to the canopy module. Again, this shouldn't be necessary as your fan's light switch should be automatically paired at the factory.
  1. Hold down Button D and Tap Button E 3x and then release both buttons -- the LED bars will pulse CYAN
  2. The LED bars will flash GREEN if successful
If unsuccessful, the LED bars will turn RED and you may need to try an exclusion or factory reset as per the directions below. 

Pro-Tip: If the LED bar is lit up but not pulsing CYAN, then try pressing it faster. 

Pairing the Switch to your Hub/Gateway

Please follow the directions to include or pair your Inovelli fan/light switch to your hub (NOTE: This is not how to pair the switch to the canopy -- see section below this one for more details). Again, for more detailed hub/gateway instructions, please see the links in the bottom section.  
  1. Start the inclusion process on your hub
  2. Hold down Button A and Tap Button B 3x and then release both buttons -- the LED bars will pulse BLUE
  3. The LED bars will flash GREEN if successful  
If unsuccessful, the LED bars will turn RED and you may need to try an exclusion or factory reset as per the directions below.

Pro-Tip: If the LED bar is lit up but not pulsing BLUE, then try pressing it faster. 

Excluding / Removing Your Fan & Light Switch

Please follow the directions to exclude or pair your Inovelli fan/light switch to your hub. Again, for more detailed hub/gateway instructions, please see the links in the bottom section.  
  1. Start the exclusion process on your hub 
  2. Hold down Button A and Tap Button B 3x and then release both buttons -- the LED bars will pulse BLUE 
  3. The LED bars will flash GREEN if successful  
If unsuccessful, the LED bars will turn RED. Please ensure your switch is within Z-Wave range. 

Pro-Tip: If the LED bar is lit up but not pulsing BLUE, then try pressing it faster.  

Factory Resetting Your Fan & Light Switch

Please follow the directions to factory reset your Inovelli Fan & Light. Please only follow this procedure if the Exclusion method does not work. 

Resetting the Fan Canopy/Module 

  1. Hold down buttons D & E for 20 seconds until they flash RED 

Resetting the Fan Switch

  1. Hold down buttons A & B for 20 seconds until they flash RED
